I was like a kid in a candy store!!! Here was a young Turk ready to go out to conquer the world and help people improve their lives. He wanted to hook up to my rickety wagon load of ideas. Most people may have thought Cory was crazy but I thought God sent him to rescue me from floundering around trying to make a horse and buggy into a Range Rover. God laughed at me I guess, but He made it all fall into place. What started out as a friendly lunch sent me into orbit where I still am today.
Oh there were many hoops to jump through. When you are trying to start a new company, you can get mired down in the quicksand called government regulations. You better get a firm grip! Forms and agencies and rules and customs and agencies and laws and regulations and…..It was a lot more time consuming and frustrating than we could have imagined. But if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. Actually, since I had Cory’s help, it became an opportunity for us to learn how to work together effectively. I sometimes wonder why he didn’t just shoot me for all the ignorant boneheaded questions I asked about computers, cell phones, drones, cameras, lights, editing, music, and on and on and on….. Wow what a patient saint he turned out to be !!! And after a rough patch or two, we started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and it wasn’t an oncoming train.
Hold on now cause it gets better! We have learned a lot about our spiritual condition and what it is that God expects. It starts with basic common sense. But it quickly goes into finding out from God what the answers are to the problems that are constantly hitting us. But you learn more when you have problems than when everything is going swimmingly. You can look like a genius when there are no problems. But that’s not real life so brace yourself. Learn from your mistakes because you will make them. We sure did. It’s also hard to admit you messed up for some people, but we’ve done it so often it doesn’t matter much any more. A rule of thumb for us is ADMIT IT, QUIT IT, FORGET IT !! Cory, being easy going, takes the approach that it easiest to fix it and move on. God found the right pair to be partners. Hardie takes it too personally. The best approach is probably to roll the care of the situation over on God and let Him work it out.
